So here is where we started the week:
Hey Guys! I hope you all had a great week! We've been pretty busy, running here and there and trying to work our schedules around workers coming in and out of the house. This past week was both exhausting and exciting. The counters are in! WooHoooo! They look SO good. I have to tell you, I was really nervous. I picked them out from a 5" square sample and I didn't see the slab. Probably not the smartest way to go, but I lucked out! Not before I frantically searched the web to find pictures of full slabs of what I picked, haha! So here is where we started the week: Here is the slab for the peninsula coming in: I chose this Quartz product after doing a lot of research on different options. Hubs is the cook in the family and an amazing chef he is. However, he is pretty tough on things, so I knew we needed a stain/heat/cut/hubs resistant product. I LOVE the look of marble, but I knew I would go crazy living with the marble patina. Etching and staining is just not something I wanted to deal with. There are multiple quartz products out there with a marble look. This one is from Cosmos Granite & Marble and is called Venato Extra CQ 3cm. Here's one of the slabs in place: Ok, that's all you get to see for now. I am holding off on the "whole enchilada" photos for the final reveal post. This Thursday our cabinet guy, Samuel, is coming back in to do some work on our peninsula. Come on back next week to check it out. I hope you all have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

Even the plywood is great! I am envious. :D

Yes, if only plywood was a good counter top - it sure would be more affordable!

First off, if you don't have to, don't tear up the entire kitchen at once. When you can still use your stove, try starting with only your kitchen countertops and using fold-out tables as temporary counters. If you know that you won't be able to cook in your kitchen for a long while—for example, while plumbing or electrical work is being done—think about purchasing a camping stove, crockpot, instant pot, or desktop hot plate so you can continue cooking at home. Make sure to budget for food while redesigning your kitchen, regardless of whether you want to experiment with your culinary techniques or just order takeout!
