I know he looks a little worse for wear in this pic, but I figure if a creature 10 times my size stomped on me and covered me in slobber, I'd probably look a bit haggard myself! We really tried to limit our contact to caring for his wounds and changing out his bedding and water. Not once did he make a move to bite or hiss at us. I think he was just relieved to be safe. I didn't realize they have opposable thumbs. When we picked him up, he would hang on with his little hands and wrap his tail around our fingers. It was so cute. Thankfully, we have a friend who has raised them in the past. We managed to keep the little guy alive for a couple of days until he could take over caring for him. I am very happy to say that I think he's going to be just fine. Hubs named him Macaroni. Don't ask. :-) |
